Meeting Notes CFMA at the Royal Buffet

Again, great to be together with brothers and sisters in Christ as we start this new year! Praise God that He has brought us together in ministry for such a time as this! After discussing ideas for a speaker for the Community Day of Prayer in May, 2008, Gail Lindsey of the First Christian Church presented the need for a facility for "Good Neighbors". They have had to vacate their old facility and need considerable space for storage of pantry, clothing and freezer items. This ministry has served the community for a number of years - having served more than 600 people just this past Christmas! They have been offered temporary housing in Sill School. If you have ideas for Good Neighbors concerning where this ministry could be housed, please contact Gail Lindsey at fcc_pastor@sbcglobal.net or call her at First Christian.
Dave Scavuzzo of North Hampton United Methodist Church reminded us of a wonderful event planned for Martin Luther Kin Jr. Day. These events are being hosted by LoveAkron at the Chapel on Fir Hill and Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Please go to http://www.loveakron.org/ for more information and to register for a seat at the luncheon.

Sept. Meeting Notes

In our last meeting we discussed the need for us to be praying about who we should invite to be our guest speaker at the community luncheon.

Marvin brought up the idea of the community churches coming together and pooling funds to do a joint advertising campaign. The thought was that the combined funds would be much more effective than each of us trying to promote our churches individually.

We then went into a discussion about how we could better come together and reach the community. One idea was to build upon the youth program currently being sponsored by Northampton United Methodist Church and the Church in the Falls. Another idea was to have a joint community service at the Amphitheater at the river front. Another combined music program was also discussed.

We ended the session by deciding to continue the discussion next month.

We met, we prayed, we were encouraged!

We don't want to talk about "How was your summer?" because that some how means it is past tense. The time went much too quickly. But it is good to meet together again: we shared ideas about REACH Workcamp and out involvement in a local effort July 6-11, 2008. Check reachwc.org! Concerning the plans for the Community Day of Prayer for May 1, 2008, Lonnie has already reserved the Nat. We need to be thinking about and praying concerning who will speak and how we can involve as many as possible.
Concerning our upcoming meetings - every first Tuesday of the month at 11:30am @ Falls General, Aud. 1 - consider what we can share that will encourage and inform. What are you reading that you find helpful? What has encouraged or inspired you in ministry? How have you made it through a time of spiritual drought? Lonnie will come prepared to share next time. But that does not mean you should not come prepared as well - or that you may want to prepare for the time after that.
Everyone in ministry in the Falls, be thinking of who you could call and encourage to come to our next meeting and we strive to share the blessing of encouragement. Cindy will make a list available of all we might call.
Thanks so much for the way you bless my life!

Email invitation to CFO City Counsel Meeting

Dear all,
Via Rod, Marvin asked if I could check with Debbie Rittsinger of the City
Council to see about attending the council meeting last evening to present
some ideas about Council involvement at this year's prayer luncheon. I found
out from her that the meeting we would best attend is the one next week,
March 19 at 6:15pm at the NAT. This is great because it affords us an
opportunity to have printed material ready to hand out. The only down side
is, I can't be there! Is there someone else who could go to that meeting to
represent the CFMA to the council and offer a personal invitation for
greater involvement? Please call or email me back if you can attend. Rod
says that the tickets and invitations should be available from the printer
by this Friday.
In His grace,
Pastor Mark Brazle

Email to invite pastors and intercessors

Monday, March 12, 2007
Dear Pastor,
In the past we have not had a complete representation of the churches located in Cuyahoga Falls at annual Cuyahoga Falls National Day of Prayer Luncheon. We all have so much on our plate, and it is so hard to decide what to announce in church so we can keep the announcements short. I believe we have a solution to this year's National Day of Prayer Luncheon which will be held on Tuesday May 1st from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium.
Please print out the attached PDF file ( it should open when you double click it,--- call or email me if it doesn't) and give it to your head prayer warrior and have her send or call Jacqueline Gula at (330) 784- 5574 tjg5412@aol.com ( the Lady at the bottom of the attached PDF. ) She has been appointed by the Cuyahoga Falls Ministerial Association and will give your representative the details on how the luncheon will run. This is an excellent opportunity to free you of the responsibility and it will also bring the prayer warriors together in Cuyahoga Falls. I know your people who are given to prayer would love to be part of it. We would love to see you at the luncheon, if you can make it, but if you are not able we will graciously receive your prayer warriors as representation form your church.
Working together for a better City,
The Cuyahoga Falls Christian Ministerial Association

Community Prayer Luncheon

I 'm meeting with Don Walters, president of the City Council Fri. 19th at Eat-N-Park to discuss ways to get more bi-partisan participation in the prayer lunch.
